Certificate of Authenticity & Trust Policy

[Personified Collectibles LLC — COA Authenticity Policy] Effective Date: May 2025 Our commitment to authenticity is central to the mission of Personified Collectibles LLC. This page outlines how we evaluate items, issue Certificates of Authenticity (COAs), and define provenance for the collectibles we offer.Trust is everything in collecting — and we take that seriously. Every item we sell comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity (COA) and detailed provenance when available.

No assumptions. No vague claims. Just history, verified.

OUR APPROACH TO AUTHENTICITY We take authenticity seriously. Each eligible item undergoes a multi-step internal review process that includes: Visual examination and historical comparison Review of provenance, sourcing documentation, or chain of custody Cataloging by category (e.g., screen-used, production-made, studio-linked) Issuance of a detailed Certificate of Authenticity

Sample COA Example
Sample shown — each COA is uniquely serialized and linked to its item.

The Certificate of Authenticity represents our expert opinion on the item’s authenticity at the time of issuance. It does not constitute a guarantee of future value and does not preclude the possibility of third-party disputes regarding authenticity. When items are acquired with limited or no formal documentation, we apply clearly defined disclosure labels to ensure transparency, never to inflate value.

THE PERSONIFIED COA – Each COA issued by Personified Collectibles LLC includes:

  • Unique COA ID: Serialized with a unique identifier, Matched to internal records, Stored in our internal verification database</
  • Item Description: With origin & notable details
  • Issue Date & Catalog Entry: Tracked for reference
  • Authorized Signature: Signed by Rev. Nicholas King, Vault Curator & Founder
  • Tamper-Evident Security Seal: Optionally sealed with a tamper-evident holographic security emblem. This optional sticker adds an extra layer of trust, tracking, and long-term assurance without compromising the appearance or value of your collectible
  • Optional Inclusions: Supporting images, production stills, or auction documentation when available

Tamper-Evident Security Seal

For select items, we offer a discreet, tamper-evident tracking seal — designed to mark your piece as verified within the Personified Collectibles archive. This optional seal offers discreet physical verification — reinforcing the provenance of your item while preserving its display integrity and long-term collector value.

A security seal is available by request at the time of purchase or consignment. We apply it only when desired.

⚠️ Removal, duplication, or tampering with this seal or its associated certificate will void verification and render archival validation inactive.

How We Authenticate

We confirm each item’s origin using studio records, provenance chains, auction history, and verified collector archives. If we can’t confirm it, we don’t sell it as authentic.

“Authentication” refers to our best-available verification of an item’s origin and legitimacy. It does not imply studio certification or external endorsement unless specifically stated in the listing. While we employ rigorous authentication methods to assess the authenticity of each item, absolute certainty cannot be guaranteed. While we aim for precision in every listing, the collectibles market can sometimes involve incomplete or fragmented records. In those instances, we strive to: Present all known facts clearly and transparently Avoid exaggeration or speculative claims Use cautionary language where necessary Buyers are encouraged to conduct their own due diligence, and to review all photos and COA documentation thoroughly before purchase.

No guesswork. No shortcuts. Just verification that stands up to scrutiny.

Transparent Disclosure for Partial Items

Some items acquired through estate sales, studio surplus, or secondary markets may arrive with limited or no formal documentation. When this occurs, we apply clearly defined disclosure labels — so buyers always know exactly what they’re purchasing.

Examples of Trust Labels We Use: “Believed to be” “Production-style” “Unverified origin”

Trust Label Definitions

  • ‘Believed to be’: Indicates that, based on available information, the item is consistent with known examples but lacks definitive provenance.
  • ‘Production-style’: Refers to items that resemble those used in production but are not confirmed as screen-used.
  • ‘Unverified origin’: Denotes items for which the origin cannot be conclusively determined.

These descriptors are used to ensure transparency, never to inflate value. We believe collectors deserve full context — even when documentation is limited.

Note: Personified Collectibles may issue a COA for certain unverified or partial items where internal research, visual confirmation, or chain-of-custody history supports authenticity to a reasonable degree. Such certificates are issued as an informed expert opinion and do not imply direct studio, production, or estate endorsement unless explicitly stated.

Language subject to periodic update for legal clarity. Buyers are encouraged to review item listings and contact us for questions about specific provenance.

Why COAs Matter

A Certificate of Authenticity is more than a formality — it’s a living record of identity, origin, and truth.

In collecting, where value is tied to provenance and story, a proper COA provides the chain of trust that protects an item’s place in history.

Without one, the narrative can be lost. With one, it’s preserved — for insurers, curators, future buyers, and cultural memory itself.

A COA is proof. A COA is protection. A COA is legacy.

That’s why every COA we issue is signed, serialized, and archived — because trust should never expire.

COA & Trust FAQ

What is a Certificate of Authenticity (COA)?

A COA is a printed document confirming an item’s origin, archive entry, and verification status at the time of sale. Our COAs are backed by internal research and securely stored provenance data.

Can I transfer a COA if I sell the item later?

Yes. You can email us to update ownership records in our archive. This helps preserve provenance and resale value.

Do all items come with a COA?

Only if we can verify origin to a reasonable degree. Unverified or “production-style” items are clearly labeled and do not receive COAs unless supported by documentation.
